Altiris Supports the Windows Environment
Altiris offers full support for Windows operating systems from Windows 95 through and including Windows Server 2003. The entire line of Altiris IT lifecycle management solutions can leverage the Active Directory components of Windows Server 2003 to provide enhanced security and centralized organization for desktop and server deployments and change management.

Altiris® Deployment Solution™ is Windows Server 2003 certified and Windows XP Logo qualified. This testing, along with access to key Microsoft Windows Server and Windows Client component teams, enables Altiris to ensure that all Altiris product suites are fully functional on future versions of the operating system, such as Windows Vista and Windows Longhorn Server.

Windows Client Migration and Deployment

Some examples of the migration successes experienced by Altiris customers as they deployed Windows 2000/XP include:

• A large financial firm deployed 2,000 computers over a three-day weekend.
• Wisconsin Electric Power migrated 5,500 computers in 34 sites during a single weekend.
• A department in the  government performs quarterly refreshes of the Windows operating system on 10,000 desktops.
• Colorado DOT has performed five separate migrations using Altiris technology, the most challenging of which included migrating 2,400 Windows NT 4 computers in seven domains, located in seven offices and 53 satellite sites, to Windows 2000 in a single Active Directory domain.

Windows Server Deployment

To date, Deployment Solution for Servers, including versions from Dell, FSC, HP, and IBM, have helped facilitate bare metal provisioning and rebuilding of more than 1,000,000 Windows servers, often in completely headless environments.
